So long Sofia...


So after 76 years it is goodbye to Bulgaria on shortwave.

Tuned in expecting to hear the 2200UTC programme, and...nothing. The transmission in french was the last one I guess. This must be because Bulgaria is 2 hours ahead of us and it's now the 1st February.

So, no more Radio Bulgaria. On 5900 now you can hear a TX in Chinese. A quick surf here http://www.shortwaveschedule.com/index.php?freq=5900 suggests it is Vatican Radio from Tinang, which is a nice catch for the UK if it's the Tinang in the Philippines.
